10:00p - Eeeeeeeee!!
This morning someone on a mailing list I use asked for opinions about the ASUS Eee PC, and so I offered mine. ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) cbdilger asked if I'd put my review in my LJ so he could link to it. I might spruce it up later, but for the moment I have simply ( pasted my post behind this cut )

For some time I've been looking for a way to display a very old doll that belonged to my mother, because why have a thing like that if it's going to sit around in a box on a top shelf. A few weeks ago I saw an old display case, made around 1900, in an antique store a few minutes from my house. It looked like just the thing, but I didn't buy it right then because it was probably not going anywhere and it was pretty big and kind of spendy, so I wanted to make sure I really wanted it and knew where I'd put it and all.
So I got to where I was thinking I'd go buy it the next chance I got to get over to that store. But Saturday morning, which was my birthday, I got up and went downstairs, and there was my display case on the dining room table with a big orange bow on top.
Here it is with the doll, and also my most coolest piece of Victorian majolica--both on display and safe from cats!
