After making Mike endure my office party, I made up for it by taking him to Cafe St. Petersburg at their new location in Newton Centre. (They didn't open a second location; they moved.) Their food is still excellent. Their service is still indifferent (it's never good, and yet in my experience there's never anything specific to complain about). Their new space is larger than the old place, and bright and white and stark. The strange ceramic sculptures don't look cool and quirky in the new space; they just look wrong. On the bright side, there were some things on the menu that I don't remember seeing before. One of them was trout with something something almond something. It was very very good. So was Mike's chicken something something. We'll go again because of the food, but I sure wish they'd paint some color on the walls.
