Mine comes off counterclockwise.
It's the Cuisinart that goes the "wrong" way. I figure they do everything as counterintuitively as possible to make it more likely for the novice user to get stuck and open the manual, hence reading the warnings that say "this appliance can turn your fingers into soup." A KitchenAid stand mixer can't do that, of course; it can just break your wrist in seventy-nine places.
